"Creating peace," a poem by Louise Imm-Cooper
We are weaving a tapestry of peace
every fiber, every shape
gives it form and purpose.
And like the myriad colors and patterns in its design
each of us is spinning into it the threads of our
different experiences and perspectives
as well as the hues of our individual ideas.
The strength and beauty of the finished piece comes from
hearing and respecting the separate voices
For without seeing and understanding the message each one brings,
the colors become muted ….almost too similar
and the shapes – so carefully formed by singular threads -
are less distinct and not as visible.
