The "Che," still a vivid memory in Argentina...in spite of the moving vans
The "Che" is still everywhere in Argentina, although his bones were unearthed long ago in Bolivia. This photograph was taken not far from the Congress building in Buenos Aires. Actually, instead of putting his things into a moving van you might have seen the "Che" on a bike traveling around Latin America, treating the poor (he was educated as a doctor). Or cutting sugar cane in Cuba. Or smoking a Habana. Or stumbling in the underbush in Bolivia...well, times change, don’t they? But perhaps not that much. Bolivia’s first indigenous president, Hugo Morales, certainly conserves strong memories of the bearded "comandante."
