"Never Give Up," tale by Carolina Blanco for Jaquematepress literary contest

       This story is about a Carolina, a lovely 15 year old girl with many friends. She has always been loved and has always dedicated herself to helping people. Carolina is a very   intelligent and reliable person who knows how to have fun, and most of all… she is a dreamer. Why most of all? Because the dream she has is her guide, it never lets her give up. She won`t allow anyone to bring her down. She is always happy, with a big smile on her face. It is amazing to observe how, after being with her for a mere second, your World changes. Everything feels great, and you open up to new ideas and challenges.

 

      Caroline has a dream which she lives for.  She strives to achieve it and will never stop until getting what she wants. Maybe it means giving up some activities to start new others. Take this year: she has taken on more responsibilities. She has had to stop seeing her friends every night, because she has to go to bed early in order to get up early and prepare for meetings or other activities the following day. Yet she wakes has woken up every single day this year, consulting the list she made about dreams. She never gives up. When people try to bring her down, or tell her to give up her dreams, she just doesn`t listen at them; she believes in herself, and NOTHING will ever bring her down.

 

      I am that girl. I want to share my dream list with you, a list that has helped me face the different problems I have had in life and the problems I am now facing. Writing about this gives me strength, hope, and the courage to keep on dreaming, to push on. Here is the list:

• We need to know how to talk, to ask for what we need. We must knock on the closed doors in front of us.
• Don`t worry about the rest: grow as much as you can by yourself.
• You don`t have to show anything to anybody
• Be the best version of yourself
• Successful people never envy because the have their minds directed towards their own dreams and goals.
• Do not expect anything from anybody
• We should goals for ourselves.
• Ask wise people for advice.
• Although often people tell you that you will never achieve your dreams, they will come true if you believe in yourself: the best successes bear your own name.
• Learn how to be free, how to be the constructor of your own destiny.
• You are the one who has to face the problems; do not let another person solve them.
• You can ask for help, advice, a suggestion, but you are the one who must face the problem.
• You are the one who decides to be happy, to think for yourself.
• Don`t waste your time trying to explain your thoughts.
• If you accept yourself, you will be considered as a successful person.
• All you need for success inside of you.
• Don`t wait for the rest of the people to accompany you on your way to success. Start moving. If they follow you, better!
• Take you own decisions and forget about being shy.
• Learn to talk with solutions.

     There`s always a voice inside our heads saying “you`ll never reach it” but I know that I have to be strong. I must keep trying, keep my head held high; there’ll always be another wall. I’ll always want to make it move. Sometime I may have to loose; sometime I’ll win, but I’ll never have to give up. I am aware of the risks I am taking. They will certainly sometimes knock me down, but I will never falter.

 

     I learn from everything. That is what makes life wonderful, giving it energy, allowing one to take new chances, face new challenges, take new steps and rise to new opportunities. When you truly want something, you do everything possible to reach it. That`s the way it must be. You always need a dream, something to follow, something to make you happy all the time; you know that thanks to all your efforts, you will get always what you want. But remember: never give up. Life is amazing!
